Yes folks it is that time of year again. Time for nominating rarepairs. For those of you who joined us last year, the tag set is over here. One change from last year is that we have two fandoms in the tag set, Mass Effect Andromeda and Mass Effect Trilogy. As such there are two fandom spaces with ten nomination slots each. If for whatever reason you need more slots (if, say, you have 15 Classic Trilogy pairs you want to nominate, but also 5 new rare pairs from Andromeda you are 100% into), just contact us in our askbox or in the comments on our dreamwidth mirror or at specrecs@gmail.com and mention the extra pairings; either I or  @bardofheartdive will add them for you.

We’ll also be keeping an excel sheet updated with new couples as they come in, since AO3 doesn’t exactly display them in an easy to find way. The spreadsheet is located here. 

FAQ:

How do I nominate couples?

Make sure you are logged into AO3 and click the Tag Set.

Click the Nominate button.

Write in as many ships as you would like, up to a maximum of 20. You will need to write in whether the fandom is Mass Effect Trilogy or Mass Effect: Andromeda. (For books/comics/etc. please just use whichever of those two settings is most appropriate, eg Nexus Uprising would go with Andromeda while Homeworlds would go with Mass Effect Trilogy.)

If you’re nominating a Shepard pairing, please remember that for the purposes of this exchange, Female Shepard and Male Shepard will be considered different characters. We will accept Female Ryder and Sara Ryder as the same nomination, same for Scott and Male Ryder as Ao3 treats them as such.

Do couples have to be canon?

No.

Can I nominated characters/ships from the books/comics/DLC?

Yes, the more the merrier!

Can I nominate threesomes or moresomes?

Yes, so long as they have less than 50 or less works if they are from Andromeda, or 200 or less if they are from the Mass Effect Trilogy.

Are the nominations private?

The ships that are already nominated are not private, but we don’t reveal who nominated what. So ask for what your heart desires. C-Sec Requisitions Officer Does Not Discriminate!

If I nominate something, am I agreeing to write/draw it?

No. Nominations are meant to get ideas flowing – you don’t have to commit until sign-ups.

What if I accidentally nominate something over the 200 fanworks limit?

Mods check the nominations before they go live, so no worries. :)
